Dr. Theresa Brooks is a physician who has dedicated her career to healing patients and strengthening communities. As a practicing doctor, small business owner, and elected Troy City Council member, she brings medical expertise, practical problem-solving skills, and proven leadership to public service.
Serving Our Community
As a medical professional, Dr. Brooks understands healthcare challenges from the inside. She will fight to expand access to quality healthcare, address disparities in treatment, and ensure that medical decisions remain between patients and their doctors. She believes healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
Following advanced training at the renowned Mayo Clinic, Dr. Brooks has spent more than fifteen years treating patients, helping them recover from injuries and illnesses that affect movement and daily life.
A Michigan Leader
Dr. Brooks has deep Michigan roots, earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her medical degree from Michigan State University. She currently teaches future physicians at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. In 2019, she was elected to the Troy City Council, where she also served as Mayor Pro Tem. She approaches governing the same way she approaches medicine: listening carefully, relying on facts and evidence, and working toward solutions that improve people's lives.
An Oath to Serve
Throughout her career, Dr. Brooks has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to service. As a physician, she took an oath to help people and do no harm. As a public servant, she brings that same commitment to her work, fighting for policies that protect and strengthen communities. She believes in a government that works for everyone—investing in education, protecting the environment, supporting working families, and expanding opportunity for all.
